Official data shows personal finance loans rose 0.2 per cent in December.

SYDNEY, AAP - Personal finance loans were up 0.2 per cent in December, official figures show.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) on Wednesday said personal finance commitments, seasonally-adjusted, rose to $7.475 billion in December, from an upwardly revised $7.464 billion in November.

Total commercial loans in December rose 8.6 per cent to $31.884 billion, from $29.347 billion in November.

Lease finance was down 15.3 per cent to $449 million, compared with $531 million the previous month.

Housing finance for owner occupiers fell 2.7 per cent to $13.498 billion, from $13.876 billion the month before.
