The Minneapolis Firefighters Union is backing City Councilman Gary Schiff for mayor.
It's the first major endorsement in the race.
Other city council members Don Samuels and Betsey Hodges are also running. Energy company attorney Cam Winton has also thrown his hat in the ring.
Mayor R.T. Rybak announced late last year he's not seeking a fourth term.
