Matt LeBlanc really doesn't want to disappoint people by having a "Friends" reunion.
While promoting his Showtime series "Episodes," LeBlanc touched on the topic every former "Friend" gets asked about: whether there will ever be a reunion.
"I don't want to see old Joey," he told EW.
In the EW interview, LeBlanc said that "Friends" was about a "finite period of time, before you got married and went off to start your life with a family," a time everyone can relate to. He said checking in on the characters now would "disappoint most people."
"Everyone?s going to have different vision of what those characters are like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people," he said. "A couple of people will go, 'That's what I thought!' but for the most part it?s going to let people down. It's better to let them just think."
LeBlanc isn't the only "Friends" star who has shot down reunion hopes. While the actors have worked together on various projects since -- Jennifer Aniston appeared with Courteney Cox on "Cougar Town," David Schwimmer will appear on Lisa Kudrow's "Web Therapy" -- a reunion doesn't seem likely.
"I don't think it will ever happen whether any of us want it to happen or not," Kudrow told E! Online in May 2012. "I don't think any of us would do it unless ['Friends' co-creators] David Crane and Marta Kauffman wrote it and I don't know how they could do it."
Aniston said she can't imagine a "Friends" reunion hitting the big screen. "I can't imagine how you would do it, unless you did it years from now. Then it would be: 'Who are these guys? What are we watching?' I can't imagine what that would be," she told The Hollywood Reporter in February 2012. "It's not normal. 'Friends' is in your living room: 'Friends' is not in a movie theater. It doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self."
