PNC to open energy self-sufficient branch in Florida

PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE: PNC) will on Monday open an energy self-sufficient branch in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

It isn't just at its headquarters under construction in downtown Pittsburgh where PNC Financial Services Group is being green.

The Sun-Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., said PNC Bank on Monday will be opening an environmentally friendly branch in Fort Lauderdale that will make more electricity than it uses thanks to 211 solar panels and an energy-saving design.

The Fort Lauderdale branch is a pioneer among PNC (NYSE: PNC) branches, as a dozen more are planned that would have the same design.
