Company's Rocky Mountain climb grows into charity event ...

A climb up one of Colorado?s 14,000-foot mountains that started as a team-building event for a handful of MegaPath Corp. employees in 2005 has grown into an annual event to raise money for two children?s health charity organizations.

The following year, the 125-employee company, then known as IP5280, created ?Climbing For Kids,? and employee-climbers started finding sponsors for their annual trek up one of Colorado?s many peaks. This year, the event attracted 175 climbers?including nonemployees?and raised $45,000 for Children?s Hospital Colorado and the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.

Pleasanton, Calif.-based MegaPath is a provider of managed data, voice, security and hosted IT services.
