From Jelly Beans to chocolate-dipped bacon, WFAA's food expert Stacy Fawcett has scoured the metroplex for crazy and different food items.
It starts with Whole Foods Market, including vegan Primal Strips and Chocolate Hemp Bliss. Hemp Bliss is made from organic hemp seeds and cocoa powder. It's one yummy drink, according to Fawcett. Primal Strips are meatless "jerky" strips that come in flavors like "Mesquite Lime" and "Thai Peanut."
Fawcett also shared one of her favorite donut treats, "The Evil Elvis" from Hypnotic Donuts. The donut has bacon, honey, peanut butter and banana. They also have chicken-wrapped biscuits in which they marinate the chicken for 24 hours, fry it up and then top it with anything from honey to gravy, and don't forget,Tater Tots.
Moving onto Fuzziwig's, there are over 500 items in the store. Everything is chocolate dipped on location, from turkey bacon to pretzels.
Then there is Lockhart Smokehouse in the Bishop Arts District. Among her favorites is the hand-sliced bacon, also dipped in chocolate. She also talks about their Burnt Ends, hominy with house smoked bacon and blue cheese and their bacon deviled eggs.
Lastly, it's onto Chef Graham Dodds' Ugly Pug Chocolate Cake, which uses Rahr beer at Central 214. The cake is moist and yummy, with Rahr giving that something different to taste.
